Sriracha and Rajnavy appear to be struggling to live up to the hype in the top flight.

BEC have had 2 games against championship opposition and lost both 1-0. I'm sure they will overcome this, but i think it tells us that they aren't really championship contenders this year.

Chonburi contnue to plow on with the 1-0 wins. Something that kind of annoys me really. They have such a huge support base and an excellent defence but they don't take the game to teams. Surely they should start to really finish teams off?

Now my surprise package this year is going to be TOT. I think their win away to Samut Songkhram will go un-noticed, but i doubt many more teams will take points away to Samut.

Outstanding result of the weekend must go to Muang, so OK, they have an all star lineup, but as a club to play there frist ever game in the top flight and defeat a side that has more or less been there since 1996 by 3 goals to nil, then thats telling something to the league.

PEA getting beat on the first weekend of the season, maybe not such a surprise to the guys in the know, they do seem to be having some troubles, but to be honest, getting beat by Osotsapa doesn't say much to me. Osotsapa are one of these teams that can beat the big boys but not quite match them at the end of the season.

Chonburi started life once again as one of the favorites and beat another potiental rival in BEC. Again Chonburi are keeping thigns tight in defence and not scoring many, this weekends goal came from a free kick. This year, we may again see Chonburi concede vert few, but again fail to score on a regular basis.

Rajnavy have shown in the last decade that they are a yo-yo team, again after this weekend's result, they seem to want to keep up this unwanted statistic.

I was very surprised with the Samut Songkhram result, winnign 3-0. Maybe this tells us more about Chula, and possibly a big struggle for them this year.

Bangkok Glass, with practically last years KTB team got life underway with a 1-1 draw with TOT and in the big Chonburi derby, Pattaya and Sriracha drew 1-1. A think after about 5 - 6 weeks of the season we will start to see just what these two teams can do.
